Students also build on the butterfly and will be introduced to the elementary backstroke, breaststroke and elements of the sidestroke. The basics of turning at a wall are also introduced.

    Students entering this course must have a Level 5 certificate or must be able to successfully swim 1 lap of crawl stroke and 1 lap of backstroke. (1 lap = 50 yards) The objective of Rec Racers is to refine stroke skills to swim with more ease, efficiency, power and smoothness over greater distances. This class is for swimmers who are interested in entering swimming competition of who want to achieve a higher level of fitness.
